I had a fairly low key key weekend as Mr. H was out of town visiting family. So besides my serious catching up on sleep my weekend included:
Making these delicious dark chocolate almond bites. And then proceeded to eat more than my share of them.
Going to yoga classes - I am almost done my 30 day challenge.
And trying to keep the house clean. We listed our house last week so I vacuumed and swept and wiped things down more times than I care to remember.
And that's about it.... not very exciting.....
It was the food truck frenzy here in the weekend. Did anyone go? We went last year and loved it but with Mr. H out of town we had to miss it this year :(
I used to love watching the news and we usually had it on in the mornings when we were getting ready for work and then in the evenings when we were making supper. Eventually though I came to slowly notice that for those two hours I watching the news it was mostly filled with negative stories - where were all the positive things happening around us. Now don't get me wrong I know that everything in our world is not sunshine and lollipops but there are so many good news stories out there that we never hear about.
So I thought I would try something new and every week share one of the good news stories I have found that brought a smile to my face. Hopefully it will bring one to yours.
Truckers Rescue Pets in Need of New Home
The nonprofit Operation Roger is matching truck drivers with abandoned animals, transporting them to families that are willing to adopt.
I usually have a few things I want to accomplish each month but unfortunately I am not great at always sticking to them. I’m hoping by putting them on here you guys will keep me a little more accountable;)
April Goals:
Yoga – I signed up for a 30 day challenge at Soul Hot Yoga. This means that some of my other things like running may take a back seat this month but I am so much happier all around when I am practicing regularly. This has actually been on my list since last year but I can never seem to find a month where it works.
Get the rest of our trip in May booked/planned. At least the flights and hotels anyway. We are getting close on time and I need to get on this!
Start my seedling inside for the garden.
Finish spring cleaning the office. We started this last month and then have left the last little bit.
Go through my closet and get rid of any clothes I don’t wear anymore. I always struggle with what to do with all my work clothes I don’t wear anymore but then saw and ad at work for the Making Changes Organization. It’s a perfect place to take everything!
I think that should be more than enough for the month!
Quick recap from our long weekend (although a day or so late).......
This year was one of the first Easter's I haven't had to work in a long time! Usually my quarter end at work falls on Easter weekend and I spend it at work. This year with how everything fell I work this weekend instead - which is totally okay as it meant I got to go home last weekend :)
We headed to my Mom's place in Saskatoon and had a low key weekend catching up with family.
1. Starbucks for the road trip
2. The snow they still have! It's crazy considering we have pretty much nothing. The piles are higher than the top of the truck.
3. Easter eggs we (attempted) to decorate.
4. Treats from the Easter bunny
Then last night we went to a concert (Little Big Town) that we had tickets for but bought so long ago we almost forgot!
